A few people have asked about dates for the rest of the year. We are currently rehearsing for the concert on Saturday 21 March 2011, venue Canongate Kirk. Programme: Lehar, Gold & Silver Waltz; Falla, Ritual Fire Dance; Chabrier, Espana; and Prokofiev, Peter & the Wolf.

Reminder of dates for 2012
Christmas arrangements
As previously notified, the orchestra’s AGM will take place next week (7 December).
The following week (14 December) will be the last meeting of term, and as usual, we will play Christmas music in the first half and the second half will be a social occasion. Please bring a small contribution of food or drink.
Rehearsals will start again after Christmas on Wednesday 11 January.

Rehearsals about to start again!
It’s nearly time for rehearsals to start again. The first meeting of the new season will by in Cluny Church Centre at 7.45 on Wednesday 1st September.
Concert dates announced
The 2010/2011 concert dates are as follows: 27th November 2010, 26th March 2011 and 28th May 2011. The programme for November is Rossini, Overture The Barber of Seville, Dvorak Cello Concerto and Butterworth A Shropshire Lad. We’re playing Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique in March but the rest of that concert and the June concert are still to be confirmed.
Coldingham weekend dates
This year’s Coldingham trip is to be 10-12th June 2011. We hope that as many people as possible will be able to make it – we all had a great time last year.
